Get It Done San Diego App Reviews

Surprisingly effective & polished

I’ve only reported pot holes and graffiti—a task the app makes incredibly convenient. It’s not quite frictionless, and text entry fields in the UI are really dated, but otherwise much better than filling a form out on some obscure city website, drafting an email or god forbid, having to call someone. Biggest gripe with the app: it doesn’t support the iOS swipe to go back gesture. That left side drawer belongs in a hamburger menu. If any decision makers are reading this, look up Apple’s “Human Interface Guidelines” for best design practices.

The city doesn’t really do much

Just wondering how more pedestrians need to get run over by cars for the city to do something about pedestrian safety in this city.

It used to work well but now…

America’s Finest City usually misses trash collection in front of my property at least once a month so I use this app to report it. A few months ago, it started to throw me off onto the web browser on my phone where I am now supposed to complete the report. Which makes no sense, might as well make the report on my desktop.

Fix the issues

My car was posted two months ago and now everytime there is a parking issue my car is posted in six different areas? at the same time? a lot of people seem to be having the same issue. Fix the bugs in this app please

Excellent app!!!

It works great! I’ve reported different issues and I’m very happy with the app and with the good response time! Specifically things like illegal dumping and certain parking issues are resolved quite fast. I like the recent update that we can cancel tickets if an issue resolves itself to save the city time. Also very nice that when the ticket is adressed the responder can attach an image of the resolution.

Amazing Service (when it’s reliable)

This is an incredible offering by the city. It doesn’t always work, but when it does it’s pretty magical.

No option to close account

No option to close account

2 mos no response

Car parked on street in same spot over 3 months, reported it after 1 month. Tags have since expired, tires are slowly losing air. Looks to possibly be abandoned. The app itself is easy to use, but the city doesn't seem action submissions. This is not my first submission.

5 stars so far

Used it for the first time the other day. There was a broken piece of metal stuck on the curb causing a trip hazard. I took a picture and submitted a report using the app. Within 3 days someone came by and cut the piece of metal off the ground. I checked the app and it said the case was closed. So far the app was useful and served it’s purpose.

The app with no results!

If you want to do your part only to have the city do nothing about your concerns, then this is the all for you! With so many choices/options, you can report almost any problem in your area and the city will respond… never! Much like this rest of Todd Gloria’s administration, you will see no results here. Make the change on Election Day, and then maybe this app will have a value. Horrible.

Why doesn’t app work in La Mesa and Spring Valley ca

I was able to to use this app in the past. It doesn’t let you move on to pinpoint location. Ridiculous. We have illegal parking and nothing can be done.

App still down - Error code 401

8 days and counting

Great app, great results

Really impressed with the UI of the app, but even more so that submissions are addressed or at least responded to in a super timely manner.

No way to delete certain reports

There should be an option to delete a submitted report regardless of type. I was directed to an online form regarding missed recycling pickup and was instructed to add my exact address. It is now publicly out there on the report feed and I have no way to delete it other than emailing, which I did, but received an automated response that due to a high volume of requests that I may not receive a reply. Terrible.

The Placebo App of Reporting Crimes

This is potentially the worst Law Enforcement Crime Reporting style app in the entire country of the United States. You could submit an attempted murder on there and no one would pay attention to it for even a second. Nothing gets resolved, no one gets punished, crime continues, and reports get auto closed. Thanks SDPD for creating an app where people can file crime reports and receive ZERO help. Huge.

Better than waiting on hold

Calling in takes up expensive resources for the city. This app isn’t perfect but it gets the job done (no pun intended) and it’s fast and easy to use. Wish response times were faster especially since the police department takes up all the budget but what can you expect.

Laughable

This is comically worthless and a fine example of the City’s never ending incompetence. They will not do the required work. They will not solve the problem. But they will send you a triumphant email advising that your issue has been resolved and the case is closed. That’s one way to report good numbers to your superiors, huh? We are all familiar with reputation of City workers. Every ounce of that reputation is earned.

Totally useless

This is just a front to play make-believe with taxpayer money. Application is useless. A total disservice. You can report whatever it is as many times as you can, and the worthless bots on the other side will close reports without moving a finger. Total waste of our hard-earned money. This government needs to be replaced in the next election.

Change the name to Waste Your Time

Clearly the goal is to have statistics that show a high percentage of reports as ‘resolved’ in a short period of time. How is the easiest way to do that? Simply mark the report as ‘referred to another desk and closed’, with no real change in the original situation. That’s ultimately being driven by the City Council.

Useless

The app automatically closes my cases as soon as I create them. The app is useless

Issues ignored

Reported issues are usually closed with being attended to.

What’s the point

I can’t count how many times I have reported homeless encampments/drug use/garbage/defecation/animals, and nothing has been done to resolve the issue. After a month of reporting someone will come out and clean the area and it’s last about 2 hours. This app/service has been a band-aid that falls off.

Worthless

Have reported multiple safety issues for pedestrians, which end up marked as complete within hours- without ever being looked at or fixed. Other ratings suggest not voting down for this- but it’sthe purpose of the app. The app is pointless & apparently meant to subdue the Karen’s who clog up the app with “graffiti” posted highlighting every sticker on every wall of the city.

ONE WEEK NO ACTION

One whole week has gone by with no updates, action and or communication of any kind. I’m sure each issue has its timelines but I would think an illegal dump that is blocking an alley way, handicap access and resident alley driveways would be at least addressed. The city of San Diego is far from what it used to be. Shameful waste of tax dollars and frankly an insult to residents.

Joke of an app

This app is the biggest joke. It has been 3 months and nothing has gotten done. I sent a 2nd request after 2-3 weeks and nothing. It has been a total of 3 months now and nothing. LOL. Waste of taxpayers money

App is a joke

I’ve seen countless reports that are up to 5 YEARS OLD that are still not closed. Truly a disgrace to this city that our infrastructure is so miserable.

Needs a category for broken irrigation

I wanted to report a broken sprinkler on public property. There is no category for this, and I see irrigation problems on public landscaping fairly often. The closest category was “Over Irrigation”, which was then listed as a “Code Enforcement” report when I submitted it. I gave my email address, and almost immediately received an email acknowledging my report and providing a working like to monitor any progress in response to the report. My 3-star rating is for my initial submission just a few minutes ago and reflects the lack of the report category I would use most often.

Useless and ineffective

Useless and ineffective tool to report illegally parked vehicles on India and Cedar Street, an everyday, repeated situation. It doesn’t even issues a report. A total waste of time. I thought this could be a good alternative to the never- answering SDPD, but no, unfortunately it is the same thing.

🤙 First App for For newcomers

If your new to San Diego this should be your First App you should download if you reside in the San Diego City limits will get all your needs and problems done were all in this together lets keep San Diego at is Finest for Decades to come 🤙

Unincorporated area

I live in an unincorporated area of La Mesa. Where can I report potholes, downed trees, flooding etc? Thank You

Worthless

There is no point in having this app. I downloaded it to make my neighborhood better but it’s pointless as no one responds to any reports within a timely manner. I’ve made about 5 and no response until 1+ months later.

App should be called don’t get it done

I’ve used it a few times for missed trash pick up on our whole street and for abandoned cars parked in front of our house. Nothing has ever gotten done. No communication. Nothing.

Incorrect location added automatically

Not only does the app now just sit there with a search feature to select city and never goes anywhere rendering the app useless. But when it did work, it automatically changed to address to a random address nowhere near the encampment issue. So not only did it waste my time to report it, nothing will get done about it either. And since the app is now seemingly useless, there has to be some other way. Please, Developers, fix this stuff. It can’t be that hard.

App doesn’t work

The apps ask what city but won’t do anything after that. I have deleted it and reinstalled but still doesn’t work! 👎🏻

Worthless

This is a worthless app; either due to indifferent or incompetence nothing ever gets done. There are a few new features of the recent update. 1. home page with picture of mayor; does not provide any value not sure why it is there. 2. Map updated to show more data; this is a nice feature but it highlights that there are items to fix sidewalk or fix street lights out created years ago that have yet to get done. I would not recommend it using it as the city does nothing with the crowd sourced data.

The app closes the report seconds after you enter it in

The app keeps closing out reports seconds after being issued.

Upgrade has problems

New version is horrible! Map moves me to wrong location, whole interface is difficult to navigate. Would love to be able to see my previous requests but also have the ability to close previous requests on my own (trash gets picked up... so it doesn't just sit as a pending request or a month later someone comes and it gets marked as "can't find")

New update ruined the app

No more maps, location doesn’t work. Much more difficult navigation. Loved this app until yesterday. Now probably won’t use it at all

Location. Location. Location.

I do like the new version so far, but... Why do I have to move the location from downtown every time? Why can’t remember where I was last time and start there? I’ll share any additional comments/suggestions when I have more experience with the app. Thanks!

Works!

Super easy & great way to report issues around the city. Good communication about when something is forwarded to other agencies (like the port or the County). Pretty quick follow up for things like graffiti and street lights.

Once helpful, now useless

Apparently if you live in certain neighborhoods, they’ll ignore requests; despite vehicles being in violation of the 72hr parking code. Contacting other city officials is just as much of a waste of time. I have 7 1/2 years of records to back this up.

Bad service waste money of taxpayers

I reported and called many times for several days For loudspeakers music was playing from my neighbors at midnight but guess what???? No one showed up and be there when we needed Come on now.!

Auto location feature is often inaccurate

I use the SD Get It Done app occasionally, and appreciate that you offer it to us, but one very frustrating issue it has, is that it always seems to automatically change the address/location of the issue being reported, and almost without fail, that automatically “corrected” location is wrong. It could be just a dozen feet, 100 feet off. I don’t know if anyone else has mentioned this problem, but it is very irritating especially when the exact location is important to the issue being reported. I would ask that this function be fixed, or just removed from the app. A simple request for an address or other description of where an issue is would work. Or just an option to turn on, or off, the automatic location feature, maybe? Thanks in advance for considering my suggestion.

Stopped Working

You Can On longer submit reports Or Can review your previous Report

Absolute disgrace

They’ll just delete your reports without doing their jobs. The app is worthless. Keep it classy, San Diego

Waste of time

Great concept, but there was no action (and not even the courtesy of a response) by the city to my request re missed waste collection.

They listen

When I report graffiti it gets fixed. That’s all I want.

Disappointed

I have only submitted reports for two abandoned vehicles since having the app and neither was taken care of. I waited for two weeks. There was no response so I contacted the local pd.

Wish it worked.

“Get It Done” refers to how quickly they’ll close your report without doing anything. I reported illegal dumping that is still there. I tried to submit a report 3 times and the app crashed whenever I tried to submit a photo. Finally the report went through when I didn’t submit a photo. It was closed two days later without anything being done.
